Tom Bennett – Head Coach & Director T2 Coaching
MSc (Sport & Exercise Medicine), BSc Sports Science & Rehabilitation, BTF Lvl 2*
Since 2003 Tom has been involved in the ﬁeld of sports performance and has a wealth of experience working with professional athletes, elite age-groupers & recreational sportsmen and women.
As a coach, he is proud to have T2 athletes who have qualiﬁed and raced at European and World Championships with many setting personal best times. He also coaches and advises a number of the Thames Turbo Powerbar race team winners of the Zone3 London Triathlon League race series in 2011.
Alongside his role as a coach, Tom has lectured to health and fitness professionals at St Mary’s University College, London. His years in academia mean he is up to date with the latest research and applies this in his coaching in areas including:
- Prevention and Rehabilitation of Injury
- Athlete Performance and Readiness
- Periodization and Principles of Training
- Recovery Intervention and Strategies
He also provided consultancy work for the College’s Centre for Health, Applied Sport and Exercise Science (CHASES) supporting athletes and teams with their training goals and aspirations.
He continues to be involved in education and has been sought out for his knowledge and innovative application of power training in triathlon and cycling, an area he continues to research and explore.
Tom also has an appreciation of what is takes to be successful as an age-group triathlete, having qualiﬁed and represented Great Britain at Age-Group level. He continues to race from sprint distance to 70.3. He is fast building a reputation for working with age group and elite athletes who are looking to take their training and competition performance to the next level.
Jonathan Morrison –T2 Coaching Age Group Coach
BSc (Hons) Sports Rehabilitation, Certified Retul Fitter BTF lvl 2*
Jonathan is the latest coach to join T2 Coaching. Jonathan has a background in swimming, competing at the Provincial level in his home nation of South Africa. Jonathan took his swimming prowess to triathlon racing as a junior and senior elite, leading out the swim on a number of occasions.
He furthered his knowledge and education with a degree in Sports Rehabilitation at St Mary’s University College, London whilst developing his triathlon product knowledge working at a local triathlon shop.
As a BTF accredited coach* he combines his own racing experiences, education and swimming/bike fitting knowledge to get the best from his athletes at T2coaching.
